Florence Rosenbluth passed on December 12, 2017. She was born on April 6th, 1932 in Springfield, MA. Florence was the fifth child of Jacob and Gladys Schreiber, both immigrants of Russia. Florence spent her youth playing softball and basketball. She graduated from Commerce High School in 1949 and worked at the Springfield Jewish Weekly News as a bookkeeper until she found the man of her dreams, Alvin Rosenbluth. They were married on October 21,1956 and settled in Hartford where their 2 children, Jace and Alison, were born. Florence and Alvin later moved to Bloomfield and West Hartford where they raised their family. Florence was an avid tennis player and golfer, loved to travel and enjoyed her time in Florida. Florence was a devoted, loving and caring wife mother and grandmother (Nana) and sister. She is survived by her children, Jace Rosenbluth and his wife Soamy, Alison Kittredge and her husband Mark, siblings Betty Zeidenberg and her husband Melvin, Ruth Feinberg and Len Schreiber; four grandchildren, Addison Rosenbluth, Ethan Rosenbluth and his wife Taylor, Alec Kittredge and Madison Kittredge. The family is grateful to the staff of Polish Helping Hands, in particular to Dee, for always treating Florence with love, kindness and dignity. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd. Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489. Kindly request that your donation stay in CT. Services will be held at Weinsteins Mortuary, 640 Farmington Avenue, Hartford, CT at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 14, 2017. A memorial service will be held Thursday evening at Jace’s home 23 Benton Drive in Bloomfield between 6-8:30pm.
