Florence (Marcus) Portnoy

Florence Marcus Portnoy, a long time resident of West Hartford, was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She passed quickly on September 7, 2021 at the age of 94. “Florrie” (not Flo!) left three children, Lisa, Michael (Susan), and Neil; four grandchildren, Olivia, Elizabeth, Andrew (Nicole), and Ben (Rachel); and two great-grandsons, Zach and Gabe. She was predeceased by her husband, Bruce. Florrie was known as a kind and loving friend to many folks in West Hartford, especially tennis players. She was a frequent worker at the polls in West Hartford. Florrie was a Bat Mitzvah as an adult at the Temple Beth El and was very spiritual. The kitchen was her domain and she was known for her cooking, as family and friends enjoyed her brisket, lokshen kugel, and eggplant parmesan. And don’t forget the apple pie!
