Florence (Baron) Jacobs

Florence (Baron) Jacobs, 82 years of age, of Chester, died Sunday, September 5, 2010. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Nettie (Dorn) Baron. She worked at CIGNA until she retired and was a former member of Beth Hillel Synagogue in Bloomfield. She lived most of her life in Bloomfield and Windsor, and was an active Scout leader and volunteer for other organizations for many years.She leaves her daughter Ann Rene Jacobs and her husband Donald Gibson of Stuart, FL; her son Howard Jacobs and his wife Emeline of Chester; and two grandchildren, Michael Jacobs of New York City and Sharon Jacobs of Chester. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 10:30 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with interment in the Beth Hillel Synagogue Cemetery, East Granby. Shiva will be observed at son’s home in Chester following the interment.
