Evelyn (Lerner) Herlick

Evelyn (Lerner) Herlick, 95 years of age, of West Hartford died at home peacefully Thursday, August 14, 2015. She was the widow of Sidney Swett and Thomas Herlick and was predeceased by her son Gary Swett. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Ethel (Kusnitt) Lerner.

While living in Florida, Evie enjoyed sitting by the pool with friends, water aerobics, Hadassah, and knitting baby preemie hats. She was an excellent card player of mahjongg, canasta and bridge. She was an avid reader, a great cook and baker. She loved her family and her grand and great grandchildren.

She leaves her daughter, Elyse Feltman and husband Steven of West Hartford; her daughter-in-law Eileen Swett of Pittsburgh, PA; four grandchildren Seth Feltman and wife Gia Santoro, Adam Feltman and wife Erin, Michael Feltman and girlfriend Carmen Erian, and Nicole Swett and wife Marti; and four great-grandchildren, Eva and Eli Feltman and Jake and Zach Swett.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Beth Alom Cemetery, 46 Allen St., New Britain with Rabbi Alan Lefkowitz officiating. Following the interment, the family will return to the Feltman’s for the meal of consolation from 12-2 PM. Shiva will be observed from 7-9 PM Sunday evening, with Minyan at 7:30 PM.
