Evelyn 'Ecky' (Land) Flitt

FLITT, Evelyn ?Ecky? (Land) Flitt, 79 years of age, of West Hartford died at home, Sunday, January 11, 2009, with her family at her bedside. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Isadore and Tillie(Goldman) Land. She was a member of Hadassah and the Auxiliary of the Hebrew Home & Hospital. She was the beloved wife for 61 years of Myron R. Flitt; loving mother of Linda Nadeau and her husband Brian of Farmington, Eileen Harris and her husband Michael of Portland, ME, and Sheila McKay and her husband Smith of Cambridge, VT; cherished grandmother of Edward Brancieri, Richard Brancieri, David Brancieri, Jared Harris and Samuel Harris; and sister of Milton Land and his wife Doris of Boynton Beach, FL. She was predeceased by her sister Beatrice Gordon and by her brother Sol Land. The family wishes to express its appreciation to Dr. Bilgrammi, Gloria and to the Staff at The St. Francis Oncology Unit for the care Ecky received. The family would also like to thank, Phyllis Scott, CNA for all her personal care and support. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with interment in the Teferes Israel Cemetery, East Granby. A memorial period will be observed at her home, 34 Fox Meadow Lane, West Hartford, Wednesday following the interment.
