Evelyn Betty (Libin) Bergman, 85. Born, and raised, in Hartford to Manuel and Ester Libin on Feb. 16, 1924. She was the youngest of 10 children, all predeceased. She was also predeceased by her husband Irving William Bergman, and her daughter Nancee Rea Bergman. She is survived by two sons Leigh Bergman of West Hartford and Edward Bergman of New York. Also survived by two grandchildren Aaron Bergman and Amber White, both of Florida. A caring and extraordinary mother, wife and homemaker who was wise and influential to all our friends and family that had the honor to know her. All our young friends through the years had the benefit of an extra mother for whatever the need. Evelyn and family were long time members of Beth David Synagogue on Dover Road in West Hartford. She will be missed and remembered by more people than one person should be entitled to. Wisdom and grace will suffer a loss with her passing. A service will be held on Sunday, Oct. 18, at the Workmen’s Circle Cemetery on Garden and Cleveland Avenues in Hartford at 1 p.m. Friends will be received at her house, 2636 Albany Ave., West Hartford from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Francis Hospital in her name or a charity of your choice.
