Eve (Goldfeld) Kotkin

Eve Goldfeld Kotkin, 88, of West Hartford, wife of the late Atty. David Kotkin, died Thursday (July 21, 2005) in West Hartford. She was born in Woodbridge, CT on November 15, 1916, the daughter of the late David and Rebecca (Sokolovsky) Goldfeld and lived in New Haven for nearly 30 years before moving to Hartford with her adored husband. She was a resident of West Hartford for nearly 60 years. Eve was extremely devoted to her family and reveled in her grandchildren’s accomplishments. She was predeceased by a sister, Sophie G. Cohen, and a brother, Hyman J. Goldfeld. She was an avid reader and bridge player. She is survived by two daughters and a son; Myra K. Novogrodsky and her husband Charles J. Novogrodsky of Toronto, Canada; Amy J. Kotkin and her partner Larry Lawrence of Washington, D.C.; and Jeffrey R. Kotkin and his wife, Katherine L. (Ginger) McCurdy of Wethersfield. She is also survived by five grandchildren and one great grandchild; Noah B. Novogrodsky and his wife Isa Helfgott and their daughter Ruby N. H. Novogrodsky of Toronto; Tobias S. Novogrodsky of Toronto and his partner Tessa Colthoff; and Alexander M. Kotkin, Rebecca S. Kotkin, and Natalie H. Kotkin of Wethersfield. The family wishes to thank VNA and Eve’s caregiver, Rosa Viana, for their assistance to Eve in the last two years of her life. A graveside service will be held TODAY, July 22, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. at the Beth Israel Cemetery, Jackson St., Avon. The family will receive friends at the home of Jeffrey Kotkin, 28 Farms Village Road, Wethersfield, after the service.
