Eva (Ertman) Katz

KATZ, Eva (Ertman) Katz, 87, of West Hartford, widow of Merrill Katz, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center after a long illness. Born in Hartford, the daughter of the late Abraham and Lena (Eisenberg) Ertman, she was a life-long resident of the Greater Hartford area. She is survived by her daughter, Judith Ross of Bloomfield, and her son, Alan Katz of Avon. She is survived by her cherished grandchildren, Lee and Doreen Ross of West Hartford, Captain Gary Ross of Fort Leonard Wood, MO, Steve and Angela Ross of West Monroe, LA, Rachel Katz and Paul Demaida of Bristol, Danielle Katz of Simsbury and Jennifer Katz of Avon. She was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, David and Marc Ross. Eva will also be missed by her loving friend Grace Freedman of West Palm Beach, FL. She was predeceased by her brother, Benjamin Ertman, her sister, Dorothy Sisitzky, and her son-in-law, Melvin Ross. Her family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to Dr. Scheuster Christie for his overwhelming care and support during this most difficult time. As was Eva’s wish, interment was private.
