Eugene ('Gene') Cantor

Eugene (Gene) Cantor, 69 years of age, of Glastonbury, CT passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2018. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Sam and Beatrice Cantor. Gene was a graduate of Cooper Union and earned a master’s degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He spent over 40 years as an aerospace engineer at Pratt & Whitney until his recent retirement. Gene enjoyed watching the UConn Women’s Basketball team, building model airplanes, fishing and ice fishing. Gene was also a member of the Brotherhood at Congregation Kol Haverim. Gene is survived by his daughter, Allison Cantor of South Glastonbury, CT; his former wife, Marilyn Cantor; his brother, Sheldon Cantor and his wife, Marlene, of Stoughton, MA and several nephews. Funeral services will take place at 1:00pm on Sunday, April 22, 2018 in the Chapel of Congregation Kol Haverim, 1079 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury, CT. Interment will follow in the Kol Haverim Cemetery, 1361 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield, CT. Immediately following the interment, the family will receive relatives and friends at Congregation Kol Haverim. Shiva will be observed at the home of his daughter Allison Cantor on Mon. April 23 from 7-9pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Kol Haverim at the address above or the American Heart Association.
