Ethel (Tartasky) Tager

Ethel (Tartasky)Tager, 82 years of age, of Boca Raton, FL, died peacefully Wednesday (June 10, 2009) at Hartford Hospital with family by her side. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Rose and Meyer Tartasky. The beloved wife of the late Lee L. Tager, and sister of the late Terry Stewart, Ethel leaves a legacy of devotion to family, friends, and service. One of the founding members of the local Juvenile Diabetes Foundation in Hartford, Ethel also served as a volunteer from the founding of Camp Sunshine in Casco, ME until her health prevented her from doing so. Her family follows in her stead in service and at Camp Sunshine. Ethel is survived by her four children, Les Tager and his wife Marilyn, Ken Tager, Laurie Tager Dolat and her husband Stephen, and Barbara Linder. She leaves behind ten devoted grandchildren; David Tager and his wife Sarah, Debbie Tager, Diane Tager, Alex Dolat, MaryEllen Cleary and her husband Donald, Lee Dolat, Patrick Dolat, Samantha Dolat, Cortland Linder, Jenny Rose Linder, and three great-grandchildren; Hannah Tager, Adelyn Tager, and Ryan Tager. In addition, she is survived by her only sister?s daughter, Jill Brigati, her husband Danny, and their two children Julie and Joey, as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. Ethel?s warmth and compassion will be missed by her family and friends. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 14, 2009 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford. Following the interment at Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford, the family will receive visitors at the home of Les and Marilyn Tager. Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Sunshine at 35 Acadia Rd, Casco, ME 04015.
