Ethel Louise Silver Sorokin, 84, of West Hartford, died after a brief illness, surrounded by her family. Born in Hartford on September 17, 1928, to Jacob and Jennie Silver of West Hartford, she was predeceased by her beloved husband of 46 years Milton Sorokin, and her brothers David Silver of Roslyn, NY and Emmanuel Silver of West Hartford. She leaves her daughter and son-in-law Dr. Rachel Sorokin Goff and James Goff of Elkins Park, PA, her daughter and son-in-law, Attorney Sharon Sorokin James and Michael James of Haverford, PA, and her son and daughter-in-law, the Honorable Leo T. Sorokin and Dr. Pamela Wolf of Brookline, MA; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at Weinstein’s Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford, Sunday December 16, 2012 at 1 p.m. followed by interment at the Beth El Cemetery in Avon. The family will receive visitors at Ethel’s home Sunday afternoon and evening.
