Ethel (Ronner) Kamins

Ethel (Ronner) Kamins, of Abrahms Blvd., West Hartford, beloved wife of 64 years of the late Frank Kamins, died Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at the Hebrew Home & Hospital. Born in Hartford on October 30, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Sophie (Landberg) and Abraham Ronner. She lived in Hartford most of her life until moving to Boynton Beach, FL for 25 years before returning to Connecticut in 2002. She was a Life Member of the Bess & Paul Sigel Hebrew Academy, Bloomfield and a long time member of Congregation Agudas Achim. She devoted her life to her family and leaves behind a daughter, Deanna Leikin and her husband Bill of West Hartford; three sons: David Kamins and his wife Nancy of Bloomfield, Michael Kamins and his wife Marsha of Bloomfield, and Stephen Kamins and his wife Faith of West Simsbury; Grandchildren: Jill and Randy Mazur, Scott and Rachel Kamins, Matthew and Andrew Kamins, Brian and Reena Kamins, Lauren, Eric and Alex Leikin; and six great grandchildren: Benjamin, Gabriel, Zachary, Zoe, Natalie, and Hannah. She was predeceased by four brothers: Nelson, Arthur, Seymour, and Arnold; and two sisters: Sylvia and Maureen. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff on 4 South at the Hebrew Home for their loving care. Funeral services are private. A Memorial Period will be observed at the home of her daughter, 324 Fern St., West Hartford through Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the Hebrew Home & Hospital, 1 Abrahms Blvd., West Hartford, or the Sophie Ronner Scholarship Fund at the Bess & Paul Sigel Hebrew Academy of Greater Hartford, 53 Gabb Rd., Bloomfield 06002. Arrangements entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford.
