Emily (Taback) Morgan

Emily Claire Morgan, 45, of South Windsor, passed away on January 4, 2014, of pneumonia after contracting influenza. She is survived by her husband of 14 years, James P. Morgan, her sister Cara E. Taback and brother-in-law Alex Feinstein. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Dorinne and Edward Taback. Emily was born in Hartford, CT. She received a bachelor’s degree from Johnson State College in Johnson, VT. It was while living in Vermont that she met James and they later moved to South Windsor to be close to her family. In recent years, Emily was working towards her master’s degree in social work at the University of Connecticut. She will be remembered for her extreme kindness and generosity. Emily was a thoughtful and loving person who had a special place in her heart for people in need and for animal welfare. Emily loved reading, movies and music, especially Bob Dylan. She was an avid fan of Betty and Veronica comic books and enjoyed the pleasures of a good cup of coffee. She often took trips to Evergreen Walk, where she liked to dine and shop. Emily had a warm smile and bright blue eyes that will be dearly missed. Whenever there was a family member or friend in need, Emily would be there for them to listen and to help at any time. In the last years of each of her parents’ lives, she lovingly devoted herself to their care. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Beth Sholom B’nai Israel at 400 Middle Turnpike East in Manchester, CT, with Rabbi Richard Plavin officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to ASPCA.org.
