Elsie (Welensky) Luria

LURIA, Elsie (Welensky) Luria, 92, of South Windsor, died Monday, March 31, 2008. She was the widow of Solomon Luria. Born in New York, NY, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Lena (Finman) Welensky. She leaves her son, Edward M. Luria and his wife Deborah of South Windsor; her daughter, Sandra Knafel and her husband Steven of South Windsor; her two grandchildren, Daniel S. Luria and Eric D. Luria; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Irving and Miriam Rosenberg of Newington; and 11 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Ralph Welensky, and by her three sisters, Ethel Goldman, Sarah Root, and Sylvia Goldenberg. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at 11:00 am at the Jonathan Welfare Society Cemetery, Tower Ave., Hartford with Rabbi Jeffrey Glickman officiating. A memorial period will be observed at the home of her son, 2178 Ellington Rd., South Windsor, Wednesday following the funeral through 3:00 pm Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Association, 2550 US Highway 1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902-4301. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford.
