Eleanor (Brightman) Witkower

Eleanor (Brightman) Witkower, 85, of Craigmoor Road, West Hartford, widow of Bernard Witkower, died Sunday, August 21, 2005. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Ida (Schultz) Brightman. Along with her husband, she was a founding member of Beth El Temple of West Hartford, and a founding member of Cliffside Country Club, now known as Tower Ridge of Simsbury. She is survived by two children: Gail Antonoff and her husband Bruce of Pittsburgh, PA, and Alan Witkower and his wife Diane Finkel of Newton, MA; three grandchildren: Marci Wolf and her husband Joshua of Houston, TX, Michael Antonoff and his wife Mara of Minneapolis, MN, and Alexis Rose Witkower of Newton, MA; and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 24th, at 10:00 AM in the Beth El Temple Cemetery, Jackson Street, Avon, with Rabbi James Rosen officiating. A memorial period will be observed at her home on Wednesday, following the funeral. Memorial contributions may be made to Beth El Temple, 2626 Albany Avenue, West Hartford 06117.
