Eleanor (Joyce Goldman) Cohen

Eleanor Joyce (Goldman) Cohen, 76 years of age, of West Hartford, died Tuesday, December 18, 2012. She was the widow of Myron A. Cohen. Born in Detroit, MI, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Clara (Weinberger) Goldman. She leaves her daughters, Sandra E. Cohen of West Hartford, Susan M. Cohen and her partner Kate Carey of Northborough, MA, and Laurie B. Gordon and her wife Debbie Tofil of Manchester; her brother, Dr. Robert T. Goldman of West Bloomfield, MI; and four grandchildren, Noah and Jesse Connelly-Cohen, and Allison and Samantha Tofil; sister-in law and brother-in-law, Ruth and Stuart Zimmerman of New York, NY; and many loving nieces and nephews. She also leaves Noah and Jesse’s other parent, Patricia Connelly. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Elaine Goldman, and by her dear friend, Jerome Mackesy. Funeral services will be held TODAY, Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Avenue, Hartford, CT, 06105 with Rabbi Gary Lavit officiating. Interment will follow at Congregation Tikvoh Chadoshoh Cemetery, Club House Rd., Windsor. A memorial period will be observed Wednesday following the interment through Friday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Sandra E. Cohen, 23 Magnolia Hill, West Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 659 Tower Ave., First Floor, Hartford 06112.
