Elaine (Goldstein) White, 76, of Boynton Beach, FL, formerly of West Hartford, died Tuesday, January 16, 2007 in Florida. She was the widow of Irving J. White. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Irving I. and Lillian (Swilling) Goldstein. Elaine was a secretary at the Emanuel Synagogue in West Hartford in the 1970’s. She was the editor of the Emanuel Synagogue Newsletter for over 10 years and received several honors from the Synagogue. In 1983 she received the ?Woman of the Year? award from the Emanuel Synagogue Minyonaires. Elaine also was a member of the Emanuel Synagogue, a member of the Auxiliary of the Hebrew Home & Hospital and she volunteered at the Hebrew Home & Hospital. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She leaves her son, Lawrence P. White and his wife Sally J. Weisman of Bloomfield; and four grandchildren: Adam, Michelle, Sarah and Nikolle White. She was predeceased by a son, Stephen B. White. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2007 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi Jeffrey Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery, Wethersfield. The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday following the funeral at the home of her son, 7 High Hill Rd., Bloomfield.
