Edythe (Lavine) Jainchill

JAINCHILL, Edythe Marion Lavine Jainchill, widow of Charles Jainchill, of East Lansing, MI, formerly of West Hartford, CT and Delray Beach, FL passed away Saturday, March 29, 2008. Born in Worcester, MA, she was the daughter of the late J. Sydney Lavine and Dora (Cohan) Lavine. She leaves behind her loving children, Ann-Sandra and Michael Gearhart of Lansing, MI, Marshall and Linda Jainchill of Tiburon, CA; her devoted grandchildren, Doreen and Lee Ross, Carrie and Peter Weisenberg of West Hartford, CT, Allison and Joseph Mesquita of Simsbury, CT, Sarah Jainchill of Tiburon, CA, and Adam Gearhart of Lansing, MI; and her cherished great-grandchildren, David & Marc Ross, Joshua & Hannah Weisenberg, Adam, Jordan & Abbey Mesquita. They always called her ?Grandma E?. Edythe belonged to the Golden Chain, Women American ORT, and Hadassah. Both Edythe and her husband Charlies were past presidents of the ?Shooting Stars?, a square dance group while living in CT. Edythe did volunteer work with young children at an elementary school while living in Delray Beach, FL. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at 11:00 am the Hartford Mutual Society Cemetery, Wolcott Rd., East Granby. Shiva will be observed on Tuesday following the funeral through Thursday evening at the home of her grandchildren, Allison and Joe Mesquita at 18 Pine Glen Rd., Simsbury. Donations in Edythe?s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Association, 225 North Michigan Ave., Suite 1700, Chicago, IL 60601. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford, CT.
