Edna (Gutman) Post, of West Hartford, died Sunday, September 17, 2017. Born in Radom Poland, Edna was the daughter of the late Israel and Chana Riva (Malho) Gutman.

Edna was a holocaust survivor having been in Auschwitz-Birkenau, surviving the death march and liberated by the Britsh from Bergen Belsen.

She leaves her son, Albert J. Post and his wife Pamela of Wellington,FL; her grandchildren, Tracy and David Lockey, FL; her great-grandchildren Kierstyn and Maegan Lockey of Royal Palm Beach, FL and her extended family; Judy Kopman-Fried, Michael Fried, Sarah Magen (Jonathan) and Joseph Kopman- Fried.

Edna is predeceased by her husband Irwin Post and son Henry Post.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to all those who cared for Edna, including: Marlene Brodsky, Maxine Griffiths, Loraine Logan, Luraine Santouse, Vivienne Johnson, Allison Corke, Debra Angelina, nurse Stephanie Rose, Natalee Hylton and all the caregivers from Pathways Eldercare. Who together brought comfort and happiness, in the last years of her life.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday,September 25, 2017 at Beth Hillel Synagogue Cemetery, Wolcott Road, East Granby with Rabbi Philp Lazowski officiating. A memorial period will be observed Monday at 40 East Normandy Drive, West Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: The Higher Education Scholarship Funds named in Honor or Memory of the Post Family at the Emanuel Synagogue, 160 Mohegan Drive, West Hartford,CT. 06117.
