Ebner Glooskin 100 years old, died Sunday June 9, 2019 at the UCONN John Dempsey Hospital after a brief illness. He was fortunate enough to attend his two birthday celebrations a few weeks ago. Ebner was the son of the late Samuel and Sadie Glooskin of Hartford CT. He leaves behind his devoted wife Elizabeth Black Glooskin of West Hartford, CT, daughter Audrey Ganz Rando and husband Ronald Rando of Naples FL, son Alan H. Ganz and wife Mary K. Ganz of Hampton Falls, NH, step-son William Black and wife Marsha Black of Mahwah, NJ, step-daughter Nancy Black of Hamden, CT, many nieces, nephews and two-step grandchildren Lauren Kay and Erica Black. He was predeceased by his first wife Shirley Feinstein Glooskin, his sisters Ruth Levy Primack and Elaine “Hetzie” Rose. As a proud veteran, Ebner served honorably in the U.S Army.
He was the co-founder of Eb-len’s Clothing Store started in New Britain CT. He was a member and prior “Minonaire of the Year” at Emanuel Synagogue. Eb was truly “a mensch” and will be sorely missed by his family and friends. Donations may be made in memory of Ebner to the Emanuel Synagogue in West Hartford, CT or to the charity of your choice. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 in the Emanuel Synagogue, 160 Mohegan Dr., West Hartford, CT with Rabbi David J. Small officiating. Interment will follow in the Hartford Mutual Society Cemetery, 80 Wolcott Rd., East Granby, CT.
