Dorothy (London) Oasis

Dorothy London Oasis died peacefully Saturday, (August 6, 2005) at the Beth Sholom Home in Virginia Beach, VA. Born in Hartford in 1908, she lived most of her life in Hartford, West Hartford, and Bloomfield. A lifetime member of Congregation Beth Israel and Hadassah, Dorothy was a devoted wife and mother, caring for her immediate and extended family. She is survived by her sister, Lillian Stone of Los Angeles, CA; her brother, Milton London of Bradenton, FL; her children, Dr. Donald Oasis of Sudbury, MA, Robert Oasis of Orlando, FL, Betsy Oasis Karotkin of Virginia Beach, VA and Russell Oasis of Miami, FL. She was also blessed with eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Her family noted that one of the most valuable lessons learned from her was “to always do their very best.” Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 9, at 12 noon, at the Fairview Cemetery, Pleasant Street, West Hartford. Donations in her memory may be sent to Beth Sholom Home, 6401 Auburn Dr., Virginia Beach, VA 23464-3601. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford.
