Dorothy (Zaitlin) Cooper

Dorothy (Zaitlin) Cooper , 85, of East Maxwell Drive, West Hartford, died Tuesday, August 25, 2009. Born in Saco, ME, she was the daughter of the late Hyman and Rose (Katzer) Zaitlin) She was a member of Beth David Synagogue, West Hartford, and a Life member of Hadassah. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to everyone. She leaves her husband, her soulmate for 65 years, Ben; a son Richard Cooper and his wife Theresa of Columbia; three daughters: Nancy Cooper Funk and her husband David of Arundel, ME, Sharon Lingenheld and her husbnd Kurt of Canton, and Cindy Donoghue and her husband Michael of Elmwood; seven grandchildren: Jesse, Max, Rose, Dustin, Emelia, Shaina, and Tyler; and a sister Elizabeth Levinsky of Portland, ME. The family extends its deep appreciation to the staff at St. Mary Home for their care and compassion. Funeral services will be held TODAY, Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave, Hartford with Rabbi Yitzchok Adler officiating. Interment will follow in the Beth David Synagogue Cemetery, Wethersfield. A memorial period will be observed at her home, 9 East Maxwell Dr., West Hartford through Sunday.
