David Leader

David Leader, 81, of West Hartford, formerly of Glastonbury, died Tuesday, July 17, 2007. He was the husband of the late Marcia (Hammer) Leader. Born in New York, NY, David was the son of the late Joseph and Sarah (Hahn) Leader. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II. David was Assistant Chief Accountant in the Public Accounting Division, State of Connecticut. He was a founding member of Congregation Kol Haverim of Glastonbury and a former member of Congregation Beth Israel of West Hartford. He leaves two daughters, Laurie Leader and her husband Robert Katz of West Hartford , and Ellen Leader of Wellesley, MA. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2007 at 11:00 AM in the Silberman Chapel of Congregation Beth Israel, 701 Farmington Ave., West Hartford with Rabbi Michael Pincus officiating. Interment will follow in Congregation Kol Haverim Memorial Park, Wethersfield. A Memorial Period will be observed Thursday following the funeral, at the home of his daughter, Laurie Leader. Memorial contributions may be made to The Caring Committee, c/o Congregation Beth Israel, 701 Farmington Ave., West Hartford, CT 06119 or to JDC-Jewish Coalition for Sudan Relief, Box 420, 132 E43rd St., New York, NY 10017.
