It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Leon Kaye. He lived a loving and fulfilling life of 92 years. Daniel passed peacefully on July 17th, 2026 with family by his side as he joined his beloved wife of 62 years, Marna Kaye and son David Steven Kaye in heaven. Daniel was born on May 29th 1934 in the Bronx, NY. Son of, Anna and Barney Kaye. Daniel lived in Hartford, CT before settling and raising his family in Manchester, CT with the love of his life, Marna. He enjoyed raising chickens, gardening, breeding canary birds, fishing and spending his summers with family at Crescent Beach. Daniel graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1956 with a Master’s degree in Biology Science & Agriculture Education. Daniel taught science and vocational agriculture at South Windsor High School before serving as vice principal. He continued his teaching career at Bacheldor High School in Hartford, CT where he retired after 36 years in 1992. After retirement, Daniel returned to the workforce to tutor science and spanish to homebound children attending Manchester High School. Daniel had a passion for breeding, showing and judging Canary birds and was a published Author in the “American Cage Bird Magazine”. He was widely known in the bird community for producing his own strain of red/orange canaries. Over Daniel’s lifetime he had an avid love for gardening. He priorly served as council member of Knox Inc. and was the co-founder of the Connecticut Association of Agriculture. He also in prior years, taught Hebrew School to the youth at Temple Beth Shalom in Manchester, CT and has served as President of Crescent Beach Association. Daniel will most importantly be remembered as a loving, caring patriarch of his family. His quick wit humor, smile and captivating conversations brought so much warmth and joy to everyone around him. He is survived by his children, son Dov Kaye, daughters Rebecca Falvey and Robin Neron. Sister, Barbra Levine and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.Final arraignments will be held at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, New York on Tuesday July 21, 2026 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to: The American Cancer Society or The American Heart Association.
