BRUCE R. ROSOW, 78, of Bloomfield, CT and Port St. Lucie, FL, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 18, 2006. He was born August 20, 1927 in Hartford, Connecticut to David A. Rosow and Ruth Rose (Hoffman) Rosow. He married Marcia (Brettschneider) Rosow, January 29, 1950. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy. Bruce graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1951 with a degree in Business. He was co-owner for many years of David A. Rosow, Inc., a wholesale pharmaceutical and liquor distributorship founded by his father in 1909. Most recently, he was co-owner with his eldest son, David, of Charter Oak Travel in West Hartford. Bruce is survived by his beloved and adoring wife of 56 years, Marcia; his seven beloved children, David, Mindy, Eric, Leonard, Julie, Nancy and Richard; their spouses, Sylvia, Bob, Susan, Steven and Peter; his adoring grandchildren, Glen, Scott, Jake, Danielle, Jeremy, Zachary and Jaclyn; and his beloved brother, Gerald. In his youth, Bruce was a great track and field athlete and basketball player. Throughout his adult life, his passion was golf. He was the first choice amongst his friends in any club tournament. Bruce was a former Club Champion at Cliffside Country Club and Senior Club Champion at Tumblebrook Country Club. Bruce loved spending time with his wife Marcia and their extended family. Bruce was determined, eternally optimistic and extremely easygoing in nature. He was a lovable husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at 10:30 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi Stanley M. Kessler officiating. Interment will follow at the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery, Wethersfield. The family will receive relatives and friends at his home on Tuesday after the services and on Wednesday from 2 PM on.
