Barry S. Tager

Barry Tager, 70, of Hartford, Connecticut, passed away on 05/30/2026. Born 06/13/1955 in Hartford, Barry grew up and attended school in Bloomfield, CT, and graduated from Wesleyan University.

A beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Barry’s favorite thing in life was making people laugh. He loved playing cards—especially cribbage—listening to classical music, and trying new restaurants and recipes with friends. Known for his jokes, puns, and love of a good story, his kindness and contagious laughter left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

A service will be held on Tuesday, 06/02/2026 at 11:00 AM at Weinstein Mortuary, followed by burial at Workmen's Circle Cemetery in Hartford.

He is survived by his family and friends. For those wishing to make a gift in his memory, Barry would like donations to be given to local public radio, something meaningful to Barry and a nod to his grandfather Max Tager who had a Yiddish radio show.
