Barry Kursman

Barry Kursman, 65, of Spyglass Drive, Avon, husband of Nancy (Sodokoff) Kursman, died Thursday, June 14, 2007. Born in Worcester, MA, he was the son of the late Irving and Lillian (Levinson) Kursman. He was a graduate of Boston University. He was a member and Past President of Farmington Valley Jewish Congregation-Emek Sholom, a past member of the Simsbury Theater Guild, and a past member of Tower Ridge Country Club, Simsbury. Barry was an avid Red Sox fan. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Andrew Kursman and his wife Deborah of West Hartford; a daughter, Pamela Gordon and her husband Dr. Barry Gordon of West Hartford; five grandchildren: Joshua, Samuel, Danielle, Rebecca and Jared; a sister, Barbara Gorney of Plymouth, MA, and his mother-in-law Sylvia Sodokoff of West Hartford. Funeral services will be held TODAY, June 15, 2007 at 10:30 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Avenue, Hartford with Rabbi Howard Herman officiating. Interment will follow in the Farmington Valley Jewish Congregation Cemetery, Avon. A memorial period will be observed at his home following the funeral through Sunday evening.
