Arthur (H.) Sokol

Arthur H. Sokol,87, of Granger, IN, formerly of Simsbury, CT and Delray Beach, FL passed away on Dec 23, 2018. Born in New Britain, CT to the late Mortimore and Sadie(Feingold) Sokol. He was the beloved husband of 62 years to Saundra (Frankel)Sokol. He is survived by his son Eric(Barbara) Sokol of Granger, IN, daughter Debby Blinn of Niantic, CT, grandchildren Sarah(Jon) Hahn of Fishers, IN, Ben Sokol of Chicago, IL, Ken and Morgan Blinn of Niantic CT. Brother David(Shelley) of Miami, FL and sister Naomi Zeavin of Falls Church, Virginia and a number of nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his brother Gerald.
He graduated from Cheshire Academy in Cheshire, CT and the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, PA. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a realtor in Avon and West Hartford for 60 years owning Sokol Realty. He was active in the Avon Canton Rotary serving as president in 1980 and received the Paul Harris award. He was a member of Emanuel Synagogue in West Hartford. He served on many boards and committees. He was an avid Red Sox fan with a highlight meeting Johnny Pesky at spring training. Art will be missed by his family and friends and all who knew him.
