Arthur Siegal

Arthur Siegal, 85, a lifelong Hartford resident, died Sunday, October 30, 2005 at the Hebrew Home and Hospital, West Hartford. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Louis and Ida (Balaban) Siegal. He founded the Edart Truck Rental Corporation, along with his brother, Edward Siegal and father, Louis Siegal in 1934. Edart is currently one of the largest independently owned truck leasing companies in the country. Mr. Siegal supported and contributed to the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford and the Jewish Community Center of Greater Hartford, as well as the Wallenberg Society of the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford. He was a member of Beth El Temple, West Hartford and the Tower Ridge Country Club, Simsbury. His passion, dedication and presence will be truly missed. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Adele (Kale) Siegal,. He was the beloved father of Barbara and Harvey Berlin of Bryn Mawr, PA, Marlene and Edward Schlosser of Setauket, L.I., NY, and Richard Siegal of Edwards, CO. He was the adored grandfather of Marissa and Eric Berlin, Jeremy and Meredith Schlosser, and Erin and Amanda Siegal. Also mourning his loss is his sister Faye DuBrow of West Hartford. He was predeceased by his brother Edward Siegal and his sister Helen Blatt. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Avenue, Hartford with Rabbi James Rosen officiating. Interment will follow in the Beth El Temple Cemetery, Avon. The family will receive relatives and friends at his home, 91 Parsons Drive, West Hartford through Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, Connecticut Chapter, 27 Allendale Drive, North Haven, CT 06473.
