SHAFER, Arnold L. Shafer, 74, of Bloomfield died Friday, March 2, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital. He was the husband of the late Barbara (Pollack) Shafer. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Sam and Sarah (Krinsky) Shafer. Arnold was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked for Preston Engravers in South Windsor before he retired. He was a member of Beth Hillel Synagogue of Bloomfield. He leaves two daughters, Susan Goodwin and her husband Robert of West Hartford, and Janis Radzik of New London; and two sisters, Marilyn Weiss of Clearwater,FL, and Felicia Goldfield and her husband Jerome of West Hartford. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Norman Shafer and by a sister Harriet Mandell. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 5, 2007 at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of Beth Hillel Synagogue, 160 Wintonbury Ave., Bloomfield with Rabbi Gary Atkins officiating. Interment will follow in Beth Hillel Synagogue Cemetery, Wolcott Rd., East Granby. A memorial period will be observed Monday following the funeral at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Robert Goodwin, 24 Lindy Lane, West Hartford.
