Arnold Haspel

Arnold Haspel passed away peacefully on July 2nd, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved and devoted wife of 62 years, Barbara. The perfect father to Helene & Robert Marchese and Dr. Kenneth & Janet Haspel. His greatest joy was his grandchildren Jacob & Benjamin Haspel and Drs. Eric & Allison Padegimas. He is reunited with his parents Eva & Hyman. He leaves behind an older brother Stanley & Marcia Haspel; his younger sisters Sandra & Herbert Trattner and Pearl & Michael Essner; his loving sisters-in-law Phyllis Silvestri and Ruth Leland; and his loving niece Tina Silvestri & David Pugh. He was born and raised in New York City. He was an avid sports fan and talented athlete. His New York Giants, Yankees, Rangers, and Knicks were a lifelong passion. Arnie served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Barbara & Arnie started their life in Newington where they made lifelong friends and were founding members at Temple Sinai. He was a past president of Temple Sinai, the Hampshire House, and the Floor Coverer’s Association. He was an owner of Bestflor Distributors and retired Vice President of Consolidated Trimming Corporation. Arnie was the quintessential salesman. He loved people and they loved him. He had a keen mind and would give you the shirt off his back. A true Menscha good soul. A true Menscha good soul. The memorial service and celebration of his wonderful life will be held on Sunday, July 5th at 11:30 at Temple Sinai, 41 W Hartford Rd, Newington, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Temple Sinai. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford, CT.
