Arline (Fine) Seltzer

Arline (Fine)Seltzer, 84 years of age, of Newington, died Sunday, April 8, 2018. She was the loving wife of Harvey E. Seltzer. Born in Greenwich, CT, she was the daughter of the late Reuben and Gertrude (Jacobs) Fine. Arline was a dedicated teacher of under-privileged children in the Hartford Public School System. She was also a founding member and integral part of Temple Sinai in Newington for over 60 years.

Besides her husband she leaves two daughters, Caron Gelles and her husband Steven of Scarsdale, NY, and Gail Brownstein of West Hartford; her brother, Manuel Fine and his wife Leah of Westport; five grandchildren, Joshua Gelles and his wife Rona, Rachel Raskas and her husband Jonah, Dana Gelles; and two great-grandchildren, Sheri Raskas, and Aria Gelles. She also leaves extended family, Jeffrey and Dorann Seltzer with their children Jared Seltzer, Justin Seltzer, Leah Eversole and her husband Sean and their children Isaac and Ian, as well as many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 9, 2018 in the Sanctuary of Temple Sinai, 41 West Hartford Rd., Newington with Rabbi Jeffrey Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in Temple Sinai Memorial Park, Newington. Following the interment the family will receive relatives and friends in the Temple Sinai Social Hall. Shiva will continue at her home Monday through Tuesday from 7:00-9:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Temple Sinai.
