Arline Mischel, 84 years of age, of West Hartford, passed away in peace, Thursday, October 1, 2009 surrounded by her family whom she loved so deeply and dearly. She was born and raised in Hartford, CT, daughter of the late Morris and Annie (Berman) Mischel. Arline graduated from Weaver High School and remained friends with her classmates throughout her life. She was formerly married to Gerald Rosow of Naples, FL. She will be remembered most for being a sincere giving person of herself to all who were around her. Her positive attitude and love of life radiated from her, always showing in her smile, her elegant graceful beauty, sense of humor, insight, intelligence, wisdom, and common- sense. Her continuous unwavering love for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends will be missed immeasurably as she had incredible warmth and ability to make people feel special around her. Arline also was a member of Beth El Temple of West Hartford and did volunteer work for many organizations in order to help others. She derived great joy working in her children’s various businesses throughout the years along with working at CVS Pharmacy in the Card Department (She was known as ?The Card Lady?). She loved traveling around the world and cherished her time at the shore looking at the ocean. Arline was pre-deceased by her three siblings: Samuel Mischel, Sidney Mischel, and Lillian Hartenberg and has always had a special place in her heart for all of her nieces and nephews. She is survived by her five children: Mark Rosow and his wife Nancy of West Simsbury, CT; Larry Rosow and his wife Christine of Murrells Inlet, SC; Dean Rosow of Miami Beach, FL.; Paul Rosow of Hartford, CT; and Ann Rosow-Lucchesi and her husband Bruno Lucchesi of New York, NY; her six grandchildren, Adam Rosow of Weatogue, CT; Rebecca Fagan and her husband Daniel Fagan of East Hampton, CT; Joshua Rosow of Fort Lauderdale, FL; Jason Rosow of Denver, CO; Luke Rosow and Asia Rosow both of West Hartford, CT; Her step-grandson Sean Tulin and his wife Sarah of Pasadena, CA; and her two great?grandchildren Jacob Fagan and Sianna Fagan both of East Hampton, CT. A very special thanks to Dr. James Cardon, Dr. Stuart Genser, and Dr. Jeffrey Hirst for their devoted care. Funeral services will be held TODAY, October 2, 2009, at 12:30 PM at Beth El Temple’s Cemetery, Jackson St., Avon, CT 06001. Following the interment, the family will receive relatives and friends at the home of Mark Rosow, 1 Great Meadow, West Simsbury, CT, 06092, through the evening.
