Anita (Cohen) Lieberman

Anita (Cohen) Lieberman, 79, of Highland Street, West Hartford, formerly of Bloomfield, died Wednesday, March 21, 2007. She was the widow of Louis A. Lieberman. Born in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Philip M. and Lillian (Friedman) Cohen. Mrs. Lieberman was a voracious reader and lover of the English language. She volunteered in the Bloomfield Elementary Schools for many years, sharing her passion with hundreds of students. She was a charter member of Beth Hillel Synagogue of Bloomfield. She leaves two sons, John D. Lieberman and his wife Lisa of Huntington Woods, MI and Andrew S. Lieberman and his wife Lauren of Weatogue; a daughter Kate Foryan of South Carolina; four grand children whom she adored: Deanna, Nicole and Sam Lieberman and Jason Foryan; two brothers: Alan J. Cohen of Phoenix, AZ, and Myron Cohen and his wife Inez of Jewett City; and a dear sister-in-law, Toby Lieberman of New London. Funeral services will be held TODAY, Thursday, March 22, 2007 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi Mendel Samuels officiating. Interment will follow in the Beth Hillel Cemetery, East Granby. Shiva will be observed at the home of her son Andrew S. Lieberman, 22 Lincoln Lane, Weatogue.
