Amelia (Keyfitz) Holtman

Amelia Keyfitz Holtman, 89, of Delray Beach, Florida, formerly of Hartford, CT and widow of Max Holtman, passed away peacefully at the Miami Jewish Home and Hospital May 8th. She was the beloved daughter of Arthur and Anna (Gerstein) Keyfitz of Montreal, Canada and sister of Nathan Keyfitz, Gertrude Singman and Ruth Karp. Amy was an Honors graduate of the Ottawa Civic Hospital School of Nursing and worked as an R.N. at the former Mount Sinai Hospital and Hebrew Home for the Aged, before retiring to South Florida in 1980. She was a founding member and past president of the Association of Jewish Registered Nurses. She leaves a daughter, Lonnie Scheinblum and her husband, Michael and a son, Arnold Holtman and his wife, Laura; also four grandchildren, Robert Scheinblum, Joseph Holtman, Michael Holtman, Allison Holtman, and a Great Grandson, Jacob Scheinblum. She was pre-deceased by her brother, Irving Keyfitz and grandson, Andrew Scheinblum. Funeral Services will be Graveside 10:00 AM Friday, May 12th at Piaterer Verein Society Cemetery, Jordan Lane Ext., Wethersfield, CT. Shiva will be observed thru Sunday, May 14th at the home of Arnold and Laura Holtman, 16 Vernon Avenue, Unit #4, Vernon, CT. Contributions can be made in Amy’s memory to either the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, 4200 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami, FL 33137 or The Miami Jewish Home and Hospital for the Aged, 5200 N.E. 2nd Avenue, Miami, FL 33137.
