Alvin (M.) Steinberg

d. January 1, 1970

Age 93, of Simsbury, CT, formerly of Boston, passed away May 22, 2015. He was the husband of the late Lillian (Rudnick). He leaves his daughter Marion and son Barry, two grandchildren, a great grandchild and beloved dogs Shayna Madel and Jordan. He was a 1943 graduate of Northeastern University with a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, and served as an engineering officer with the U.S. Air Corps during World War II, and with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was active in freemasonry for 67 years. He was a member of Sequin-Level Lodge No. 140, Newington, and was a research member of Philosophic Lodge of Research, Cromwell. He became a Mason with Major General Henry Knox Lodge A.F. and A.M. Boston, where he received many accolades. He served as Master with Knox Lodge and District Deputy Grand Master, Chelsea 3rd. He was also awarded the Joseph Warren Distinguished Service Medal. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26, at Beth El Temple Cemetery, Jackson Street Ext., Avon, with Rabbi James Rosen officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA), 350 South Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02130. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford, CT.
