KENNEDY, Alvin Kennedy, of East Hartford, died Monday, April 9, 2007 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Samuel M. And Sylvia (Gittleman) Kennedy. He lived in New Britain until the age of 8, when his family moved to East Hartford. He graduated East Hartford High School in 1945. Alvin served in the US Army in the Korean War; he received the Purple Heart. He belonged to several veteran?s organizations including Paralyzed Veterans of America. He also belonged to Temple Beth Tefilah in East Hartford. He leaves his brother, Robert Kennedy; his aunt, Mary Gittleman; and several dear cousins and friends. Gravesite funeral services with military honors will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Beth Alom Cemetery, Allen St., New Britain with David A. Nemirow officiating. The family wishes to express special thanks to Dale West and East Hartford VNA for her loving and compassionate care. Memorial contributions may be made to Temple Beth Tefilah, 465 Oak St., East Hartford 06118 or to the Harry and Helen Gray Cancer Center, 85 Retreat Ave., Hartford 06106.
