Allyson (Strober) Hamilton, age 48, of Hebron, formerly of East Northport, NY, died, Thursday, April 5, 2012, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous ten-year battle with breast cancer. She was the beloved wife of Gary Hamilton for 24 years. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of Jerome Strober and the late Lenore (Greenberg) Strober of Port Jeff Sta, NY. Growing up in East Northport, NY, she was a graduate of Commack North High School Class of 1981. She graduated the University of Hartford Magna Cum Laude in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She had worked as a Certified Public Accountant and financial analyst for the last 27 years, most recently at The Travelers as Assistant Vice President of Select Accounts Finance. She was an avid runner and ran in many races to raise awareness and money for breast cancer research and treatment. She was a member of Congregation Kol Haverim in Glastonbury. Allyson was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and dear friend to many. Besides her husband and father, she is survived by her daughters, Sydney and Steffany Hamilton, her sister, Shari Slepian and husband Brian of Dix Hills, NY, brother Brad Strober and wife Judi of Princeton Jct, NJ, brother Andy Strober and wife Buffy of Westport, CT, brother Rod Strober and partner John Allick of San Diego, CA, Mother and Father-in-law, Jan and Mal Hamilton and brother-in-law Glenn all of Windsor Locks, brother-in-law David and wife Vickie of Ogden, UT, brother-in-law Paul and wife Lynne, of Windsor, brother-in-law Todd and wife Julie of Hingham, MA, and six nieces and nine nephews. Funeral Services will be held TODAY, Friday, April 6, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Sanctuary of Congregation Kol Haverim, 1079 Hebron Avenue, Glastonbury 06033. Interment will follow in the Kol Haverim Cemetery, Jordan Lane Extension/Rt. 314 (off the Berlin Tpke), Wethersfield. Following interment, the family will receive friends at Congregation Kol Haverim. The family will continue to receive friends and family at their home, 41 West Branch Dr., Hebron from 1-4 and 7-9 pm on Sunday and Monday.
