Alice Elsie (Brown) Rabinovitch, 87, of West Hartford, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2012, at St Francis Hospital with her family by her side. Alice was born in Montreal, Quebec, on October 22, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Sidney and Sarah (Garelick) Brown. Alice was predeceased by her husband, Solly Rabinovitch and her brothers Louis and Hyman Brown. Alice is survived by her children Nelson and Susan Rabinovitch, Carol and Frank Klemensberg, and Amanda and Richard Strauss. She will always be Bubby to her grandchildren, Lorne and Elizabeth Klemensberg, Erica (Rabinovitch) and Avi Smith-Rapaport, Mendel Rabinovitch and Molly Ernst-Alper, Rafi and Michelle Klemensberg, Evan Strauss, Tyler Strauss and her great grandchildren, Samm, Yona, Maxx and Tali. Alice was a lifetime knitter and spent many happy hours knitting works of love for her family and friends. And in recent years she began knitting caps for newborn babies at Newington Hospital with her friends at the Elmwood Senior Center. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 18 at 11 am, in the Beth Hillel Synagogue cemetery, 15 Wolcott Road, East Granby. A memorial period will be observed at the home of Nelson and Susan Rabinovitch, 39 Hiram Rd, West Hartford, Wednesday to Friday. Mincha minyan will be held at 7 pm Wednesday and Thursday.
