Alice Menzer, 87, of High Ridge Road, West Hartford, died Wednesday, September 6, 2006. She grew up in Basel, Switzerland and came to America in 1950 with her husband, the late Alexander Menzer, M.D. They were married for 59 years prior to his death. For more than 50 years, she was a resident of West Hartford. She was a docent at the Wadsworth Atheneum for 33 years and also a member of Congregation Beth Israel, West Hartford. She leaves two daughters: Karen Ullian, M.D. of Charleston, SC, and Marion Dinitz of Potomac, MD, and two sons-in-law: Michael Ullian, M.D. and Harold Dinitz. She also leaves her three grandchildren: Naomi and David Ullian and Shera Dinitz. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 8, 2006 at 1:00 PM in the Silberman Chapel of Congregation Beth Israel, 701 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford with Rabbi Michael Pincus officiating. Interment will follow in the Beth Israel Cemetery, Ward and Affleck Streets, Hartford. A memorial period will be observed Friday following the funeral through Sunday evening at her home.
