TRIEBER, Albee M. Trieber, 88 years of age, of West Hartford died Saturday, October 9, 2010. He was the loving husband of the late Laura (Levy) Trieber. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Harry and Anne (Polski) Trieber. Albee was a US Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II. He helped revolutionize the rapid replacement of aircraft engines during his years of service and received recognition from his superiors. He was a scholarship graduate of Pratt Institute in New York City and he attended the University of Alabama. Albee owned with his wife the Albee Trieber Company for over 45 years, an advertising and marketing agency. He was a sculptor and fine artist and had his own television show in New York. Later in life, Albee taught art to senior citizens. He was a long standing member of the East Hartford Rotary, a member of Kiwanis, the Horological Society, and he was an avid clock collector. He was a former member of Congregation Beth Israel of West Hartford. He was the loving father of Bette Rieger of Morristown, NJ, and Jacquelyne Trieber and her fiance, Kevin Sheehan of Farmington; cherished grandfather of Madison Rieger; devoted brother-in-law of Selma Yudkin of West Hartford. He also leaves behind his treasured pet, Shadow. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 11:30 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi Howard Herman officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. A memorial period will be observed at the home of his daughter, Jacquelyne and her fiancé Kevin, 1-B Talcott Glen Rd.,Farmington, Wednesday following the funeral through sunset Friday.
