Aaron Louis Paller, 40, of Jacksonville FL (formerly of West Hartford CT), passed away on July 6, 2026 following a courageous six-month battle with myeloid acute leukemia and ten days after a stem cell transplant.
An accountant, Aaron was a graduate of Solomon Schechter Day School and Hall High School, and the Mandell Jewish Community Center his second home. He completed his college studies at Saint Leo University in Florida, and had just begun work with FIS Global a few weeks before his surprise diagnosis. FIS was never-the-less wonderfully supportive.
But Aaron’s accomplishments and the impact of his too short life extend well beyond his accounting work. In addition to being a talented singer and part of the elite Hall High Choraliers, he developed a green thumb for growing the dozens of succulents and house plants that adorned his home inside and out. Aaron was an incredibly warm and caring person who forged deep friendships from childhood through adulthood. He had a wonderful sense of humor.
Aaron was also a role model whose resilience in the face of many challenges helped inspire others. His struggles began on the first day of life when he was diagnosed with a volvulus which required surgery removing most of his small intestine and 6 weeks in the ICU. The resultant short gut syndrome, always his Achilles heel, contributed to his untimely death post-transplant. He knew at any early age that he was gay, at a time when acceptance was uneven, fought depression, but most consuming was a decades long battle with addiction. Despite setback after setback, Aaron never gave up and received his one year of sobriety chip a few weeks after his leukemia diagnosis and continued to be a role model during his months of treatment. The outpouring of love, through chats and emails and hospital visits, was a testament to the relationships he forged. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him and will live on in the sweet example he set.
Aaron is survived by his parents, Andrew and Leah Paller, his brother, sister-in-law and nieces, Joshua, Johanna, Effie, Maggie and Lulu Paller, his beloved dog Sadie, and countless friends who are missing him dearly.
A service will be held at 11am on July 10, 2026 at Beth El Temple in West Hartford followed by burial in Beth El Cemetery. His many Jacksonville friends are also planning a Memorial on July 18, and have started a Blood Cancer United Light The Night fundraiser in Aaron’s honor at Danny's Light The Night Fundraiser
