Arlene (Lyon) Levine
Arlene (Lyon) Levine, 93, of New Hartford, formerly of Springfield and Hampden, MA and Sarasota, FL, died Tuesday, September 27, 2005. She was the widow of Louis Levine. Born in Southampton, MA, she was the daughter of the late Marcus and Nellie (Dickinson) Lyon. She was a graduate of the Hartford Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Levine was a registered nurse, and with her late husband, they owned and operated the Mary Lyon Nursing Home in Hampden, MA. She was a member of Congregation Ahavath Achim of Colchester. She leaves two daughters: Linda Dryansky and her husband Michael of New Hartford, and Gail Levine and her husband Raymond Kearns of Washington, DC; a sister Eunice Fish of St. Petersburg, FL; three grandchildren: Dani Beth Vanderheyden and her husband Grayling, Aaron Levine and his wife Cassandra, and Michael Kearns, and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 29, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Congregation Ahavath Achim, 84 Lebanon Avenue, Colchester, with Rabbi Kenneth Alter officiating. Interment will follow in Congregation Ahavath Achim Cemetery in Colchester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to America's Second Harvest - The Nation's Food Bank Network Development, 35 E.
