Arthur Stoltz
Arthur Stoltz, 99, of Bloomfield, died May 31, 2017. He was born in Hartford and was the son of Eva (Weinberg) and Benjamin Stoltz. He served in the U.S. Army in WWII. He started his career working for the Popular Market and later went into business for himself, creating Art's Provisions, Vernon Circle Market, and Arthur's Fine Foods of Hartford and East Hartford. He was a member of the former Teferes Israel Synagogue, where he served two terms as President. Currently he was a member of Beth David Synagogue. He is survived by his beloved wife of 76 years, Lillian (Cohen) Stoltz. He leaves his children, Frances and Gary Lowenstein ; cherished granddaughters Julie and her husband Craig Rosenberg and Emily and her husband, Dr. Howard Scher. He is also survived by his adored great grandsons, Simon, Jonah , Elliot and Spencer. He also leaves his brother, Dr. Edwin Stoltz of Delray Beach, Fl. and was predeceased by his brothers Albert (Smiley), and Harry Stoltz, and his sister Pauline Stoltz. The family wishes to thank all the care givers and health care providers for their wonderful service and a special thanks to Trudie Hayes for her loving care. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Friday, June 2 at Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave. , Hartford, CT. Interment will follow in the Teferes Israel Cemetery, 96 Wolcott Road, East Granby. Following the interment, the family will receive relatives and friends at 7 Downing Circle, Bloomfield, entrance is on Nolan Drive.
