Jane Jensen Lublin
Jane (Jensen) Lublin of Hyannisport, MA, Naples, FL and Avon, CT, beloved wife of Richard Lublin, passed away August 26, 2016 with her devoted husband and her devoted Dr. Hegde at her side. She was born in Springfield, MA and lived her childhood in East Granby, CT and graduated from East Granby High School and then went to Boston where she graduated from Chamberlain College majoring in Interior Decorating. Later in life she formed a decorating company called Tree House Design, which she was owner and president of and designed interior of homes in Conn, Mass, New York and Florida.

Besides her loving husband, Richard she leaves behind a very dear brother in law Dr. Bernard Lublin and his wife Bobbie of Richmond, VA and Naples, FL and a wonderful son Attorney Peter Lublin and his wife Michele of Johns Creek, GA and their four children.

Jane was a very beautiful person and in her youth she was the first runner up in the Miss Massachusetts Beauty Contest. Once when Richard was acting in the television series Chicago Hope, Jane came to the set one day and the assistant director was so taken by her looks that he put her into the episode as a nurse in the emergency department. However, as good looking as she was, her inner beauty far surpassed her physical beauty. She was always there to do for other people whenever she could and was involved in a lot of charity work and she loved animals and was always surrounded by pets in the house.

She and Richard founded the Lahey Clinic Prostate Cancer Foundation and also helped fund the Lahey Clinic Pain Clinic which received patients from all over the world for pain treatment from cancer and traumas. She and Richard donated the waiting room in the new cancer wing of the Cape Cod Hospital which has been named after them. She and Richard were founding title sponsors for the University of Connecticut Spring Galas and sponsored them every year which attracted 1,200 people a year and raised a lot of money for the war on cancer. In 2014 the University of Connecticut awarded Jane and Richard it highest award, its medal of honor, for their efforts in raising a great deal of money for cancer research and cancer care. The University of Connecticut also named the waiting room in its new cancer center in their names.

Jane and Richard loved to travel and when Richard retired from his law practice, they got on the Queen Elizabeth ship and went around the world for 89 days. They spent summers in their waterfront home in Hyannisport, Mass and during the winters, they would go to Barbados until they finally bought their winter home in Naples, FL.

Jane was a former member of Tumblebrook Country Club in Bloomfield, CT and a current member of Great Oaks Country Club in Naples, Florida.

She was predeceased by her father William Victor Jensen and her mother Viola Jensen of East Granby. Her great grandfather was Gorge Jensen silversmith to the Danish Crown and her father was actually knighted by the Danish Crown and held the title of Lord.

The Lublin family would like to thank all of the marvelous doctors and medical personnel, too numerous to list, who fought so hard to save Jane's life but alas it was not to be. Once you hear the word cancer from a doctor your life and the lives of your loved ones will never ever be the same. However, we would like to acknowledge Dr. Upendra Hegde, who was with us from the very beginning and who is the most caring, compassionate and dedicated person we have ever met and Ali Thorogood RN who was with the Lublin’s from the beginning and took fabulous, loving care of Jane and helped Richard from getting so stressed out during the horrors of this terrible journey.

Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford, CT and services are private. Memorial donations may be made to the University of Connecticut Foundation,10 Talcott Notch Rd., Farmington, CT 06032 and please specify for Dr. Upendra Hegde.
