Jack Rubin
One of the greatest generation's "greatest" left us. Jack Terry Rubin passed away on March 2, 2016 at the Hebrew Home and Hospital. Jack was born on June 27, 1925 to Abraham and Sarah Rubin in Brooklyn, New York. He served in the army air corps from 1943 to 1945. On a ten-day pass, he married the love of his life, Phyllis, and they remained married for seventy years.

After the war, Jack and Phyllis had two sons within two years. Jack left college after two years to support his growing family. A self-made man, he rose to be senior air officer in the U.S. Postal Service and then Budget Coordinator at the New York Power Authority.

He leaves to mourn him his wife, Phyllis, his wonderful children, Dr. Mark and Gloria, Dr. Paul and Rina, his beloved grandchildren, Dr. Evan and wife Dani, Darren and wife Robyn, Adam and wife Jenn, Dr. Todd and wife Dr. Satoko. He also leaves his adored great-grandchildren, Alex, Isla, Naya, Mateilda, Zuma and Miya. He also leaves behind his brother, Albert and wife Arlene, and many wonderful nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Dr. Phillip and wife Dr. Barbara, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Lillian and Ralph Leinoff.

The family would like to thank the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff at the Hebrew Home and Hospital and Masonacare for their compassionate and excellent care.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 4, 2016 in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Avenue, Hartford with Rabbi Debra Cantor officiating. Interment will follow in Beth El Temple Cemetery, Jackson St. Ext., Avon. Following the interment through Sunday evening the family will receive relatives and friends at the home of his son, Dr. Mark D. Rubin, 11 Seminole Way, Bloomfield 06002.
