Blanche Levy Rosoff
Jennie Jacobson Levy and William Levy welcomed a daughter, Blanche, into the world on April 9, 1918 in Brooklyn, NY. It was the height of the Influenza Epidemic which soon took her father's life. Her mother died when Blanche was still a young girl and she went to live with her mother's brother. She began a career as a textile designer and in 1942 she married Henry Rosoff. They had two children; Jill and Neil and together they led an iconic post WWII existence in the suburbs of NYC until cancer took Henry's life in 1967. Blanche carved out a new life for herself, relocating to West Hartford, CT and working in the banking industry as a data processor until her retirement in 1980. She spent countless hours as a volunteer at Red Cross, pursuing artistic interests, and cherishing her growing family in her retirement years. On August 20, 2014, at the age of 96, following a series of health setbacks, Blanche died peacefully with her daughter and son at her side. She led a rich, full life centered around her cherished family: daughter Jill Cristo and her partner Robert Seaman, son Neil Rosoff and his wife Patricia, grandchildren Chad Cristo and wife Melissa, Stacy Cristo and husband Ben Hall, Jared Rosoff and wife Betsy and her great grandchildren Dakota Cristo, Hunter Cristo, Ingred Ren Cristohall and Arlo Rosoff. She was predeceased by her brother, Seymour Segal, her husband, Henry Rosoff, and her daughter-in-law, Patricia Rosoff. Many thanks to those loving souls who cared for her these final years, Jovia Komuhendo and Alex Matama. Burial will be private.
