Jeanette (Glazier) Snyder
Jeanette Snyder, 98, of West Hartford, CT passed away peacefully from this world on March 28, 2013. She died in the comfort of her home alongside her family. Born in Lithuania on December 24, 1914, she was the youngest daughter of Fruma and Louis Glazier. She was predeceased by two brothers and five sisters. She is also predeceased by her loving husband Albert who passed on in 1989 and her son Philip who passed in 2009. Alongside her husband, they owned and operated Snyder’s Market in Hartford, CT for 35 years. Throughout her retirement, she spent winters in Pompano Beach, Florida and summers at Old Colony Beach in Old Lyme, CT. Bubby had countless friends and loved to entertain and made sure no one left her house hungry. She greeted everyone with a smile and a joke. Of her greatest joys, it was that of her family that gave her the most fulfillment. She is survived by her son Marshall of West Hartford, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren and their spouses include: Mandy and Jay Cassano of Simsbury, Wendy and Bob Christman of South Salem, NY, Johanna and Todd Snyder of Rocky Hill, Elana and Jeremy Snyder of Albany, NY, Rebecca and James Demarest of Rensselaer, NY, and Sam and Max Greenhut-Snyder of West Hartford. Her great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life, were Jake and Sophie Cassano, Maia and Albert Snyder, Aidan Christman, and Leah Demarest. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Helen Rewa of New Britain for the love, care and compassion she provided to Jean during the last years of her life.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 31, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Avenue, Hartford with interment following in the Agudas Achim Synagogue Cemetery, Cleveland Ave. Extension, Hartford. Calling hours will be held at 35 Vardon Road in West Hartford, CT shortly after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Agudas Achim Synagogue in West Hartford, CT.
