Millie Goldstick Ellovich
Millie G. Ellovich, 96, passed away peacefully on Friday (September 14, 2012). Born in Springfield, MA on October 30, 1915, she moved to the Hartford area upon marrying Bernard Ellovich in 1939. Millie was always a firm believer in volunteerism. She began her fifty-five years of volunteer work with the Red Cross as a Motor Corps driver during World War II. She then assisted with Red Cross blood donation drives and ultimately served as Secretary and as a member of the Board of Directors for the Greater Hartford Chapter. Millie transcribed and taught Braille, receiving a diamond award from the National Braille Association for her 30 years of service. She was a lifelong member of Hadassah. Friends knew her as an avid gardener and expert knitter. Millie was predeceased by her husband, Bernie, and leaves her two daughters, Risa and Sari Ellovich.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 16, 10 a.m. in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi David J. Small officiating. Interment will follow in the Knesseth Israel Synagogue Cemetery, Ellington. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 16 from 2 to 5 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Ellovich Family Fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, 10 Columbus Boulevard, Hartford, CT 06106.
