Edith June Segal Rosen
Edith June Segal Rosen, 60, of Bloomfield, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on December 6, 1948 to Natalie Sherman Segal and Myron Segal, Edie was a cherished daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She is survived by her husband of more than 39 years Dr. James Rosen, her mother, Natalie Segal, her sister and brother-in-law Cathy Segal Garcia Hoffman and Gary Hoffman, her children Elissa Rosen Gruenberg and Rabbi Joshua Gruenberg of Nyack, NY, Sandy Rosen Grabicki and Joseph Grabicki of West Hartford, CT, her grandchildren Samuel and Kayla Gruenberg, her nephew Matthew Rozett and countless family members and friends.Whether you were family, friend or even a neighbor, those who came into contact with Edie will forever be touched and inspired by her presence. Edie lived life to the fullest every day and had a tremendous love of traveling, food, and entertaining many people in her homes. One of her greatest loves in life was walking on Goose Rocks Beach in Kennebunkport Maine, hand in hand with her devoted and loving husband Jim. What made this marriage so special was the fact that Edie and Jim were best friends for over 41 years and were very much devoted to each other. Singing and piano playing were two of Edie's many passions in life, and through her music, she brought joy and happiness to her family and friends. Edie worked as the office manager for many years at the Career Counseling Center of the University of Hartford, and found great joy in helping those in need. Edie deeply loved her family and friends and will be remembered in our hearts forever.
